Facsimile of The Signatures to The Declaration of Independence

An interesting and potentially useful mid-19th century engraving showing all of the original signatures on the Declaration. There is a line at the bottom giving John Quincy Adams’s certification that he has compared these to the original and “found them EXACT IMITATIONS”  The border is made up of vignettes of state seals from the original 13 states with Liberty, Justice and an American eagle at the top.

The engraving measures about 13.5 x 10

In a period rosewood veneer frame with some veneer loss at the bottom corners.
