A very fine gilt silver card case made by Leonard & Wilson in the mid-19th century. The depiction of the new tomb at Mount Vernon is nicely detailed and reasonably accurate. The very ornate reverse is engraved “Kimball”. There is no maker’s mark, but a tiny letter on the top flange on each side that likely denotes the specific design.
Accompanied by a typed card giving its provenance to Greyledge in Botetourt County, Virginia.
1.53 troy ounces.
