Very Rare Isleworth Vase

A footed vase elaborately molded with drapery and floral designs and printed blue “Gilliflower” pattern with small leaves and insects. This is only the third Isleworth vase of this form known. The other two were sold at Sotheby’s auction of the property from Syon House in London in 1997 and then resold in the Bonham’s sale of Geoffrey Godden’s collection in 2010. The Syon House vases are each numbered “4” on the bottom. Our vase is numbered “5”.

A number of molded biscuit shards matching this vase were found in excavations of the Isleworth site.

In generally very good condition with no restoration or cleaning beyond soap and water.
