This beautiful silk veil, called an Ajar, is very similar to the one in the Victoria & Albert museum that was acquired from the Tunisian exhibit at the Crystal Palace Exhibition in 1851. The Arabic inscription repeats the phrase “God is life, life is God” There are some small holes.
