A rare intact set of three Derby bough pots with scenic decoration in the style of, and likely by, “Jockey” Hill [the story is that he rode to work on a pony] one of the most famous Derby porcelain decorators. The scenes are titled on the bottom of each pot; “View near Derby”, “View in Italy” and “View in Germany.” All three have the standard painted red Derby mark used before the Bloor Derby period.
In a very good state of preservation with only fine minor hairlines and a pinhead size flake on the edge of one cover.
The larger pot is 4.5″ tall 8.5″ wide and 4.75″ deep. The smaller ones are 3.75″ x 7.25″ x3.75″
