Saltglaze Stoneware Spinario [boy with thorn]

This interesting ceramic figure is in the style of the early 18th century copying one of the most famous classical Greco-Roman bronzes. It was sold some years ago by a prominent New York dealer as an 18th century English piece, but we believe it is actually Victorian.
