Pair of Fine Small George II Sterling Salvers

These early rococo salvers are engraved with the Watling family crest. The motto above the crest is an indication that the family was Scottish. They are hallmarked for London, 1741-2 and the maker, Francis Crump. There is a fine large coffee pot in the collection of Colonial Williamsburg by Crump and he made the exuberant rococo candlesticks belonging to the Eyre family at Eyre Hall on Virginia’s Eastern shore.
