Neapolitan Creche Figure

A rare and beautiful 18th century figure from Naples. A bald but bearded wise man with an expressive face. His full length coat is a double fabric of silk on linen with a great deal of metallic thread embroidery. The silk is much deteriorated, as is to be expected but the embroidery, as well as the figure itself, is well preserved. It is protected in an early blown glass dome.

The figure is 13 inches tall
