A rare American Rococo bookplate engraved by colonial Boston silversmith and engraver Nathaniel Hurd. It is pasted to the front board of a fifteenth edition of Paradise Lost published in London in 1738. The owner was George Atkinson.
The bookplate measures about 3 x 2.3.
