Massachusetts Hepplewhite Card Table Signed “Flanders”

A fine table in excellent condition with an attractive mahogany veneer skirt and alternating light wood and ebony  bellflower inlays on the legs. There is a bold chalk signature “Flanders” in period script under the top. Bjerkoe’s Cabinetmakers of America lists a John Flanders in Newburyport, but the dates given would be too late. Perhaps this is his father? The location seems correct.

The table survives in very good condition.
