This fascinating manuscript has 125 pages of exercises, examples and geometry problems for surveyors, brickmasons, carpenters, joiners, slaters, tilers, plasterers, painters, glaziers, pavers and plumbers. The last few pages are devoted to calculating the surface, etc of vaulted and arched roofs.

The book itself, with marbled paper boards, leather spine and good quality laid paper pages, has a label on the front from Kimber & Conrad, no 93 Market-street, Philadelphia. The owner’s name, “Robert W. Jordan, West Lawn, Pennsylvania” is written on that label.
