Large Staffordshire Platter

This brown transfer printed platter is about as large as we ever see from Staffordshire. It was made by Elkin, Knight & Bridgwood, a firm that was only in business for 13 years. The pattern name, shown in a printed mark on the back, is “Chinese Fountains.”  It has an older wire hanger which makes us think that it has hung on the wall for most of its life. That would explain its perfect condition.
