Large Staffordshire Figural Group, Eros and Anteros

An early and quite impressive Staffordshire figure depicting Eros and Anteros wrestling, said to depict reciprocal love. There is an example similar to this in the Victoria & Albert marked by Ralph Wedgwood, but others are unmarked and attributed to Enoch Wood. Two wings have had early restorations to the tips which are very well modeled, though the color is a bit off.
