Gold Baby Tooth Brooch

Gold Baby Tooth Brooch

A beautifully crafted little bar pin set with two of the more unusual “gems” we find in antique jewelry. The use of baby teeth for jewelry seems to have never been a terribly common practice, we find very few examples, but it has been done in various places over the the last several hundred years. This piece is a style that we think of as Victorian British and it has the “585” used in England for 14K gold, but it also has marks indicating Vienna, Austria in the 1920’s, so we are a bit unsure of its origin.
