An elaborately veneered and inlaid demi-lume mahogany commode. This piece is a caliber of English furniture that we rarely see here. It was sold by a Chicago dealer around 1900 and found recently by a friend in an old Detroit estate. The construction is quite light, as is to be expected with some London furniture of this period. We wish that the last refinisher had left the color a bit lighter. The classical figure inlays need to be seen to be fully appreciated. The single large door opens to a spacious interior with one middle shelf.
