This very interesting little engraving was produced in Germany in the early 1790’s. It appears to be a German commentary on the French revolution and the Hanoverian royal family of England. Louis and Marie are entwined with snakes devouring the French fleur-de-lis. George and Charlotte are surmounted by a glowing crown.
The image itself measures 3.5 x 4.75
In a 19th century walnut frame.
