This fine quality and very well preserved teapot has an unusual feature. The engraved solid silver shields on either side of the pot are applied rather than being inset, as is typical. The engraving of the drapery on those shields is quite sophisticated, but they have never been monogrammed.
Recently reacquired from the estate of the collector to whom we sold it just a few years ago.
