Douglas Southall Freeman’s George Washington, First Edititons

Long considered the definitive Washington biography, Freeman’s monumental work was awarded the Pulitzer Prize after the author’s death. The set was published in series over a period of years. Freeman completed volume six just before his death in 1954 and volume seven was written, using Freeman’s research, by two of his associates and published in 1957. Because of that lengthy publication history it is quite uncommon to find a full set of true first editions such as this.
