A large and unusual example of the Chinese porcelain made for export to Persia in the very late 18th century. The deep blue border with gilt stars is typical of the Persian marker ware, but we have never before seen the interesting central motif of a flower draped hookah base.
There has been some overpainting to the outer blue border.
