Chinese Carved Zitan Brush Pot, Kui Xing

A heavy and very finely carved Chinese scholar’s brush pot depicting Kui Xing, one of the five gods of literature. There is a lengthy inscription carved into the back side, which may be somewhat later than the main figural carving.
