This intriguing little table is very delicately proportioned and has a detail that we do not expect on a country piece. The top is bordered by a small inset spline less than a quarter of an inch but enough to give it a bit of sophistication. The top is also heavily chamfered on the underside to lighten its appearance.
It is in completely untouched original condition including the tiny brass pull. The secondary wood is poplar, which doesn’t tell us much beyond Mid-Atlantic, but my guess is that it should be called Southern.
