Carved Mother of Pearl Shell Souvenirs of the Holy Land

These very beautiful carvings were produced in Palestine in the mid 19th century and sold to Christian pilgrims. The workmanship is extraordinary. Both have bits of older red thread attached, indicating that they were intended to be hung. They are spectacular with light shining through.
