Bronze Model of the Well-Head from The Doge’s Palace Venice

Bronze Model of the Well-Head from The Doge’s Palace Venice

A fine quality 19th century Italian bronze Grand Tour souvenir. There are two huge and elaborate Renaissance bronze well-heads in the courtyard of the Doge’s palace. This well detailed model is a copy of the slightly earlier one created by Nicolo Dei Conti in 1556. The model has been made with a lid in order to make it a useful container.

It is quite heavy.

I’ve included a photo of the original that I took a few years ago.
