Brass and Copper Tobacco Box, St. John of Nepomuk

Brass and Copper Tobacco Box, St. John of Nepomuk

A finely detailed and very interesting early tobacco box decorated on both sides. I have only been able to identify Saint John of Nepomuk, the saint of Bohemia, and the Crucifixion scene. The other roundel on the top is curious and unknown to me, as is the architectural scene with figures on the other side. The caption seems to be old German, but I’m not even sure of that.
