A rare form in armorial export porcelain. It is in excellent condition with its original cover. There is an older collector’s label identifying the arms, which are displayed on both sides, as a Swedish family named Gruners. Though we have not found another example the style and coloring do seem consistent with other Swedish arms.
Just as with larger 18th century Chinese hollowwares you can feel the line on the inside where the upper and lower halves of the body are joined.
