A large very fine quality and remarkably well preserved Georgian tip top tea table. The carving is beautifully executed and thoughtfully conceived with the acanthus leaves on the column aligned with the legs which have leaves flowing down and over the sides of the legs. The carved edge of the top, which is a single board and not warped, is much more sophisticated and less common than a molded pie crust.
The finish is old, mellow and possibly original. One leg has been cracked and glued many years ago and it did originally have casters.
