2 Gallon Alexandria Stoneware Jug, Milburn

This large jug has uncommon combination of both the “W. Lewis Milburn” stamp and the “B. C. Milburn, Alexa” stamp as well as the large “2”. William Lewis Milburn was the younger son of Benedict Calvert Milburn and was a druggist, but he took over management of his father’s pottery around 1872.

It is in excellent condition with just one chip in the base which occurred prior to the final glazing.
