Virginia Walnut Corner Cupboard

Virginia Walnut Corner Cupboard

This nice cupboard is simply a good example of what we like in Virginia furniture, straightforward style, excellent craftsmanship, and our favorite woods, walnut and yellow pine together with some tulip poplar. It is constructed with the back dovetailed to the top and bottom boards of both the upper and lower cases. That is a much more careful construction than the typical nailed back that we are used to seeing.

Being made in two sections makes this cupboard easier to move and more desirable than a single piece cupboard. The shelves are gently shaped on their front edges. Most of the glass is original. The two short sections of cornice on the left and right corners have had minor repairs.
