Pennsylvania Walnut Drop Leaf Table

Pennsylvania Walnut Drop Leaf Table

A very good 18th century American table. If you took this to the Antiques Roadshow the Keno brothers would excitedly point out the stockinged feet, the shaped end skirts and the notched corners as all above average details. They would probably also note the original wrought iron hinges before they started to mock you for having it refinished, which probably happened 50 years ago. At that time the underside of the top was also cleaned and there was a careful repair done to one swing leg joint. The secondary woods are oak and tulip poplar.
