This plaque may have been originally intended as a furniture mount but it is framed in an early frame that seems to have been with it for a very long time. The stamped mark, just “WEDGWOOD” in a slight ark is one of the earliest marks. We have identified several of the vignettes: “Charlotte mourning at the tomb of Werther”, “Domestic employment”, designed by Lady Templetown and modeled by Wm. Hackwood and, “Poor Maria”
There is a tiny repair to the face of one dog.
