This is number 171 [one of the specially bound first 200] of the limited edition of 500 of this beautifully produced book. It is a 264 page description of a trip around the world in 1928-29. Illustrated with more than 100 black and white photos of sites around the world and 19 color plate reproductions of watercolors documenting a number of the exotic fish encountered on the trip. This copy bears a presentation inscription to General Hanson Ely.

William K. Vanderbilt was a great-grandson of Cornelius Vanderbilt.
